If you were on the Tonganoxie City Council, how would you have handled the liquor ordinance issue?

I would probably vote to keep the ordinance, even though it conflicts with the former attorney general's opinion. The mayor has a good point that our local economy can't afford to allow other liquor stores to be receiving business on Sundays that our liquor stores could be receiving.

One minute on Sunday doesn’t sound too bad at all. I don’t know what minute they would choose. Really, they’ve gotten along without liquor on Sundays for years and years and years.

If I were in that situation, I would try, with any major decision, to not only consider what I felt was the right thing to do, but to also consider the will of the people who elected me to that position.
