Did you watch President Obama’s State of the Union address?
“I watched it in my government class. I think the President addressed the most important matters. Hopefully our government will start putting these ideas into effect, instead of just discussing them.”
“Unfortunately, I missed the President’s address due to work obligations.”
“I wasn’t able to watch it but did read the transcript Saturday morning. I don’t feel inspired, but rather still very concerned about the economy. I am unsure that ‘the worst of the storm has passed.’”

Our Principal owned a lawyer. Kudos, Mike. When asked, "Did you watch the SotU Address?" you don't respond, "No, I didn't", you respond with "No, but I got caught up with the (video) (or) (transcript) later in the week...here's what I thought."
I feel for Bailey. So, idealistic, still un-jaded by modern politics where the show of the SotU (or any televised speech) has nothing to do with the reality of what's going on in Washington. The truth of the matter is that Obama talked about Bipartisanship but his team (the House Dems) refused to work with the GOP on Health Care reform. Seems he'd want to get his own house in order before chiding all of Congress on national television.
Regardless of which party controls the White House, these televised speeches are nothing but posturing to dupe a fairly disconnected and clueless populace who are more interested in American Idol than the American Political System.
