Do you agree with the Tonganoxie City Council's decision to charge rural residents with the 66086 ZIP code the same admission rates at the water park as those living in the city?

Ross Boelling (Tonganoxie in ) says...
“No, I would rather see one rate plan for anyone who wants to swim. Tonganoxie voters made the decision to build the pool and use sales tax revenues to pay for it. Why not make out-of-towners feel welcome by charging them the same rate? Let everyone come and spend their money in Tonganoxie while they swim.”
Amy Lawson ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“I haven't been following the politics of this matter so I am not very educated on the reasons for or against the rate change and reversal. I live in the city limits so the rate is the same for me either way. I know a lot of other cities have rates based on if you live in the city limits or not. I think the important thing is that our city pool have competitive rates so that people will go to our water park.”
Bret Koch ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“Honestly, I would have to agree with the comment made by Darren Shupe (in a April 28 Mirror story), stating that it would be easier on the staff, because I do work for the Tonganoxie Water Park. I think that it is just easier to make a set price, no matter where you live. I don't feel as if setting a base price for everyone is a tremendous problem.”
