Denise LaRosh ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“I was at Tonganoxie Junior High, now the THS west campus, where I was teaching 9th grade English at the time. As my second hour students entered the room, several of them had news of a terrible event that had just occurred in New York. I asked whether anyone knew any of the details, and Levi Huseman told me that two planes crashed into the Twin Towers within minutes of each other. It was then that I realized this was no accident and something very serious was happening in our country.”
Amanda Altenhofen ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“I was asleep when my phone started ringing. My family wanted to know if we made it home from Brazil. We had been traveling, and were late getting back.”
Wesley Williams ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“I don't fully remember it. I was in Mrs. Baska's second grade class, and I remember being pulled out of school and hearing it on the radio in the car, but my mom claims I was in school all day.”
