Russell Ehart chips away at the tree he was transforming into a piece of art. Ehart is carving a statue of Henry Tiblow, a native American credited with being among the first settlers in Bonner Springs.

Basehor-Linwood quarterback Nick Verbenec let go a toss downfield during action earlier this season. Verbenec threw for 356 yards during the season, helping the Bobcats to a 6-4 season and a spot in the postseason for the first time in five years.
Bonner Springs senior Dustin Crosby raced around end during football action earlier this season. Crosby racked up 279 yards rushing during the Braves 2-9 season.

Basehor-Linwood High School senior Jeni Purtee helps preschool student Bradley Stout with a project in BLHS Preschool Lab class. Purtee is one of six student teachers for the class.
Voter turnout was good across the country Tuesday and Basehor was no different. Poll workers at Basehor City Hall reported they had close to 500 voters by lunchtime.
