Shawn Marin tries to get up with Basehor-Linwood wide receiver Ryan Murphy on a deep pass Friday night. The senior Tonganoxie High defensive back was able to force an incompletion but the Chieftains fell, 41-16, in the district rivalry game.

Last year the Basehor-Linwood football team was included in the Simone Awards celebration when quarterback Brandon Leppke was a finalist for the Fontana Award, which goes to the best small class football player in the Kansas City metro area.
