Trombone and saxophone players in the Basehor-Linwood High School marching band blast out a sustained note while rehearsing the Boston song “Foreplay/Long Time” early Monday morning. Nearly three months after their season began with the long, hot days of band camp, the band is preparing this week for its final festival competition at the University of Central Missouri.
