Britney Hoffman, a second-grader at Basehor Elementary School, has a chat with Santa Claus at the Basehor PRIDE Holiday Celebration on Friday, Dec. 16, at Basehor-Linwood Middle School. Britney asked Santa for a RipStik, a skateboard-like object with two wheels.

Santa Claus has shared with the Sentinel some letters that Glenwood Ridge Elementary School first-graders sent to the big elf. We'll share some of them with you today, Christmas Eve, and some tomorrow, Christmas Day.

On Friday night, Basehor-Linwood students performed holiday music and visited Santa at the Basehor PRIDE Holiday Celebration at Basehor-Linwood Middle School, while over at Basehor Elementary School, volunteers rounded up gifts to be given to area needy families as part of the Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services Adopt-a-Family program.
