Shawnee resident Barbara McPherson, a retired school principal, started Boomeroos, which sells custom-made collegiate fleece jackets for dogs. McPherson is a loyal Kansas State University fan, but here, her shih tzu, Boomer, finds a rejected Kansas University Boomeroo (one of McPherson's first attempts at sewing) to be a cozy bed.
