Bonner Springs Mayor Clausie Smith, left, presents the Marion Vaughn Community Service Award to Carol Geary at the 2012 Tiblow Days Mayor's Banquet. 2012 saw not only the retirement of Geary, after more than a decade as executive director for Vaughn-Trent Community Services, but also the announcement that Smith would not seek a sixth term as Bonner's mayor, a position he has filled for the last decade.
