Dogs Break Out
Through the Safe Harbor Prison Dogs program, canines are given an opportunity to break out into the world with new familes. Trained by inmates at Lansing State Correctional, these loveable mutts become available through adoption for the general public.
Barbara Hersh of Lansing waits with her dog "Miss Brynn" after their visit to the PetSmart store Saturday in Shawnee. Hersh said she adopted her dog from the Safe Harbor program over two months ago and added that "she is a success story for the program."
