National alpaca farm day September 29, 2009
Each of the past three years, Bruce and Macel Koerth have opened their southern Tonganoxie ranch, Kaw Valley Alpacas, as part of National Alpaca Farm Day. The two-day event on the last weekend in September gives the Koerths an opportunity to share their side business with other people in the area.
Macel Koerth, co-owner of Kaw Valley Alpacas, said the brown Gracie is one of the more outgoing animals who never shies away from the camera.

Groups of visitors went down to the Koerth’s barn to look at and take pictures of the alpacas for the farm tour.
Bella had just been born during last year's National Alpaca Farm Days event. Macel Koerth, said her fiber was recently evaluated to be of the finest grade.
