Massive fire destroys Shawnee apartment building

Shawnee Fire Chief John Mattox prepares to answer questions from reporters at the scene of a 3-alarm fire that destroyed a building and evacuated three others at the Hampton Woods apartments, near 67th Street and Renner Road. The fire was reported about 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Mattox said firefighters believe all the residents escaped safely.
