Basehor-Linwood middle schoolers read essays on patriotism

A crowd of veterans, teachers, school officials and winners' families watches as BLMS student Alexander Teeters reads his winning Patriot's Pen essay at the Basehor VFW Post on Thursday. In his essay, Teeters spoke about the United States' landscapes, remembering a summer trip during which his family drove through both the Appalachian and Rocky mountain ranges. "That was my favorite summer ever," he said.
