Basehor-Linwood middle schoolers read essays on patriotism

BLMS seventh-grader Calder Hollond, right, enjoys some dessert with her father, David Hollond, and her brother, Linwood Elementary School fifth-grader Sterling Hollond, Thursday before the Patriot's Pen program began at the Basehor VFW Post. In her essay, Calder spoke about the United States' national parks, military and freedom of religion, praising the country's "freedom, equality and diversity."
