Bonner Springs Elementary School second graders visited Bonner Springs City Hall Oct. 9 for a mock city council meeting, helping them to learn by seeing and hearing about real life topics the council may discuss. This year the city council voted on how to spend $1,000: on a new pool at the aquatic park or on new swings at Lions Park. They also discussed and voted on a "City Candy." M&M’s won and every student was greeted and given an M&M snack after the meeting adjourned. The day was proclaimed by the Mayor to be Bonner Springs Elementary School 2nd Grader’s Day.
