Lola Stice, fourth grader at Delaware Ridge Elementary, had her art selected as the best of the fourth grade division, earning her a spot in the Kansas Department of Health and Environment's Kansas: Don't Spoil It! calendar. As a winner, Lola got to meet Gov. Sam Brownback on Dec. 11. Dennis Stanton, DRE art teacher, said he sent about 20 entries in for the calendar contest from the school. Lola's was one of a handful of fourth-grade entries selected as finalists, and she won an online vote to become the winning entry.
