- It’s been a long time since anyone in the Basehor-Linwood High School boys basketball program has talked seriously about the state tournament. The Bobcats’ 6-15 record last year was their best in several years, and lately they’ve been whipping boys for teams like Mill Valley, Bonner Springs and Piper. But that’s expected to change this season.

- Tami Holthus will soon begin her second season as the head coach of the Basehor-Linwood High School girls basketball team. The players are more comfortable with her system and her practice routines now, but the ultimate goal is the same: keep improving.

- Basehor-Linwood High School wrestling coach Scott Neil had 27 kids come out for his team this year. That’s more than double what he had last year, but the flip side of that good news is that 16 of them are freshmen. Talented but raw wrestlers, in need of lots of guidance and time to learn.
