I agree with Rong, personnel issue, move on! And seriously....4 years in the military or a 4 year college degree to work for $15 an hour? Someone needs a reality check!
This is great news! Another great example of how our Mayor, Council and staff finally have the city moving forward. Please remember to vote on Tuesday.....Moving Forward.
"Better options out there?" Really, like a candidate who stated he doesn't know enough about being Mayor to answer that question? Or Fred Box who quit? My vote goes to our current Mayor, who has finally put an end to all the nonsense that was going on prior!
Congratulations to both Breuer and Box and I'm looking forward to casting my vote in April. I hope for the City of Basehor we see the same results in April.
LTDC - That might be one of the most ridiculous comments I've ever read on here! I'm absolutely sure Mayor Breuer was NOT down at City Hall this morning telling them which sections of town to clear first. You are paranoid and are going to lose this election. I'm good with what's been going on for the last several months, not so much prior to that!
The only conflict of interest that exists is evidently in your mind. Mr. Breuer has brought calm back to the city and I see only good things happening under the leadership of him and this Council. Let's keep moving forward!
Evidently Dennis has been neutered from making anymore comments! Too bad he wasn't smart enough to do this before being instructed to do so by the City's insurance company.
It looks as if the City employees are getting a larger percentage for their retirement than those other cities being mentioned. (Assuming that his figures are correct.) My question to Dennis would be: Is the hourly pay for our city employees comparable to those cities you are choosing to compare with?
I would also like to ask if this proposal is going to reduce our mill levy? If not, then it appears that as a council member you are really delving into an area that should be handled by our city staff or the entire city council, not an individual council member.
On a personal note, I've never had a job that reduced my pay or benefits without some other consideration being given.
Breuer elected as Basehor mayor
Congratulations to David Breuer! Let's keep our city moving forward.

Should the Basehor City Council approve a proposal to cut employee benefits by about $81,000?
