Basehor officer still on duty after DUI arrest

Really!! How long are we going to let city and government officials get away with things like this! This is a disgrace! This department gets rid of great officers who stand up for the truth and doing what’s right and they keep the ones like this with no repercussions! When are we as a society going to stand up and get officials who are honest and aren't always trying to work the system to their benefit! Ultimately it’s our safety and that of our kids along with our hard earned tax dollars that suffers from departments like this. When are we going to wake up and see what’s going on here!

Former police officer sues city of Basehor, alleging wrongful termination

I actually know and have known Officer Cory since we were kids in high school but please don't make this about me! I just want to let you know the facts.

He went into the military as an MP (Military Police) and devoted 8 years of his life to serving our country! He was honorably discharged and started his endeavors into law enforcement being that is what he does best.

I'm not trying to be one sided with my comments but I need to make sure that those who don't know him, stop making unfounded or make up opinions of his life/work.

As far as his job at Independence, he beat out almost 200 people for the position and was NEVER laid off. He left on his own terms to pursue work in a smaller town where he hoped what he did would make a difference! Now I don't know exactly everything that happened in Basehor, but I do know who Officer Cory is and what he stands for! He wants to help people. That is why he became a cop and served his country in the first place and won't stand for those who try to abuse the system. I say good for him!
