New recall petition targets Basehor mayor; group alleges misuse of public funds

It just proves the ignorance of people. That information is available on this very website. I would bet that most of the posts on here are made by people that have only just become involved in city politics. If they knew what Basehor was like "back in the day" they would be appalled by this council, administrator, and mayor.

New recall petition targets Basehor mayor; group alleges misuse of public funds

"Just a clarification, not a revision" - Mayor Hill
"It depends on what the meaning of the words 'is' is." –Bill Clinton

Do the residents of Falcon Lakes feel their neighborhood is better than others? If my memory serves, I believe Falcon Lakes wanted to restrict agricultural and commercial traffic on their roads. I would rather have a tractor driving down my road than a golf cart.

New recall petition targets Basehor mayor; group alleges misuse of public funds

JGREEN1515: I also object to the ridiculous $1.2M "Road to Nothing" project, but I also object to Mayor Hill approving a $50K payout to Loughry while an investigation is taking place. This council and mayor continue to waste our money for us. Clean house and start over.

New recall petition targets Basehor mayor; group alleges misuse of public funds

All of the current elected officials should be targeted for recall. The council and mayor have clearly picked teams and are now incapable of making rational decisions for Basehor as a group.

Basehor City Council work session agenda: Nov. 7

I'm willing to be that the Falcon Lakes agenda item doesn't get 3 of the 5 votes.

Loughry named finalist for administrator job in Platte City, Mo.

Well let's keep the recall effort growing!! Maybe the next one could be the Mayor and Miles, then Breuer and Box. Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

City council voids $50,000 severance check to Loughry

Finally, the Sentinel has a copy of the employment contract in question. The handwritten "clarification" in section 11 only has 2 sets of initials, not that of the entire council. It appears that any additions or corrections, no matter how small, must be brought before the council. See comment from previous article below. Also, read section 17 of the contract concerning modification of the agreement.

***Kim Winn, deputy director of the League of Kansas Municipalities, said a city government generally would need to revise a contract through the same means by which it adopted the contract. That is, if the contract were adopted by a council vote — as Loughry’s was —any revisions would require a council vote as well.***

City council voids $50,000 severance check to Loughry

No one can answer that definitively.

Did Mayor Hill consult the City Attorney before blessing this $50K payout?
