Basehor officer still on duty after DUI arrest

Rong, at LAST you (from BPD) show yourself. You work for us (the taxpayers) Your policy's are subject for everyone to say what is fair and what isn't. You and your department are not above the law, and are held at higher standard. If you and your employee's can't handle this, move on, or better yet. Stay on so we can fire you.
.Let's face it. Officer Justin Self still has his job, because his Daddy is a Sergeant with Mission Ks Police Depatment and knows the Chief. Anyone else, and any other Department would have terminated the officer. Chief Martley fires senior officers for minor issues, but keeps a 21 year old Rookie who just commited a crime. It's time we find a leader here who is fair and stops with the politics

Mr. Clark Kent. Yes, we must have mature and proven people who wear the badge and not handed out to just anyone. You MUST earn it.

True. You know they are treating this as a minor traffic infraction. It is not. He could have killed someone, and yet he has sworn to protect the law. Great leadership there at BPD. lol

Shouldn't we have better standards for even hiring a Police Officer. I believe (as do most) that you should have at least 4 years in the Military and/or a 4 year College Degree...To hire a 21 year old with none of these is reckless and stupid...Oh wait, he is a son of another cop so common sense is out the door.

Former police officer sues city of Basehor, alleging wrongful termination

basehoresident22 .
I have already caught you lying. You said "I am not associated with Basehor PD other than living in the city they patrol " , and now you claim you have a friend who works for Basor PD.
Do you always like to stir things up on hearsay. Where is your proof.

Former police officer sues city of Basehor, alleging wrongful termination

Bashorresident22,

Are you joking. You slam this Officer Cory, then ask why he might be upset with his response. Man, wake up and stop stirring things up. You never met him and yet you are bad mouthing him and yet claim "otherwise". I understand your name is Pearce and you got fired yourself. ?
I see alot of jealousy here, and I am just a interested paper reader, who can read between the lines on what is going on here.

I understand Chairman Loughry fired Cory, and 2 years later the City fired him. The City claims they are glad Loughry's gone. ( in the paper) They also paid him what 250,000 severance ? Don't you think maybe all decisions made by Loughry be reversed ?

The City of Bashor sure sounds like they are too proud to admit their mistake in firing Cory.
Now their ignorance is really going to cost them by letting it go to the FED. COURT.
If I were Cory I would stick it too them for their actions or lack of and not settle for anything less than 2 Million.

I hate politic's and it sure sounds like it here.
