Former police officer sues city of Basehor, alleging wrongful termination

I am sticking with my original suggestion. Sounds to me like a very small group of people who are unhappy and negative about everything that happens in Basehor (good or bad).
This negativity will only breed more negativity. This type of behavior will not shed a good light on Basehor. Good citizens will eventually give up and move away and good people will not move here. Maybe that is what you hope for. Then Basehor will truly be left with nothing but idiots. The mayor and city council could be made up of LR, MzR, Light the Dark Corners, StandforSomething, and a few more negative suckers.

Former police officer sues city of Basehor, alleging wrongful termination

LR, MzR, Light The Dark Corners (aka Washington's)
There is a hot air balloon waiting for you with your name on it. You only need to supply the fuel and God knows you have an abundance of that!
Let it go...................and please go up, up and away. Far away!

Basehor pays Loughry $200,000, issues apology in settlement

Well said Talisman. I too wish Mr. Loughry and his family the best of luck. He was treated unjustly. Mertz, Box and Dysart should have read the apology themselves. One point that was not mentioned was that former Mayor Hill actually had the city process a check for the pay that was owed to Mr. Loughry last October. The council voted to void that check and withhold money due Mr. Loughry and then "concerned" citizens decided to process a recall against Mayor Hill for doing his job. If the council would have followed the guidance of Mayor Hill and the attorneys there probably would never have been a lawsuit filed. Mayor Hill was an elected official and therefore not able to sue for the slander and damage done to his reputation brought on by "concerned citizens". Ultimately Mr. Loughry has received money due him in addition to the lawsuit settlement and a public apology which is long overdue. I also wish to thank Mayor Hill for doing the right thing by trying to process payment when it was due. It is unfortunate that the city council did not listen to his advice and in the process the city lost a good Mayor who truly cared about the city and had worked hard to move this city into the future. Hopefully the council today will continue to move in the direction which Mayor Hill set.

Basehor City Council agenda includes $200,000 settlement with former administrator Loughry

LR, You stated you did not live here when all of the above happened. So you really have no idea what you are talking about. You should spend more time talking to both sides and get the real and complete facts. Others keep putting you in with the the Mertz, Dysart and Box group because you sound exactly like them. Maybe you are not. But you need to research the whole history and quit listening to others.

Basehor City Council agenda includes $200,000 settlement with former administrator Loughry

I wondered when you would slither into this conversation. You can try to muddy up the water with your ridiculous ramblings but you don't even make any sense. You were one of the concerned citizens that orchestrated this whole mess in the first place. Everyone knows you were part of the Mertz, Dysart and Box bunch. Looks like they should have listened to people around them who have a brain instead of your out of touch ego. Once again your hunger for revenge has backfired.

Basehor City Council agenda includes $200,000 settlement with former administrator Loughry

I agree with you johninbasehor. They should have listened to the former Mayor and followed his guidance. If the council would have listened to him the city would not be paying out an additional $200,000 today. Mayor Hill was elected by the people to represent them. I believe that he did just that. If I remember correctly Mayor Hill was recalled because he tried to pay the original amount owed to Mr. Loughry in order to prevent the lawsuit. Hopefully those who voted for the Mayor's recall now realize he was wrongly accused.

Former Mayor Hill was not retained. Maybe we should have kept him in office.
