So LR, since the Basehor Newspapaer that is not run by our city and/or our city council didn't publish an article that you want, you think we should recall council members?! That makes less senses than your usual ramblings! Maybe they just had something else to report on, possibly the Kansas Primaries? Maybe the reporter was sick? Hell who knows! Could be a million different reasons! But you, being the conspiracy theorist that your are, instantly blame our city council who has nothing to do with what is printed in the paper or on this site! If you want to get a message to council and want to know what happens at the council meetings, you should probably go to a council meeting!
p.s. Nobody cares about the quotes and stories you post!

Thank You whostheboss.... Never heard of so many complaints from 2 people obviously afraid to do anything to make the situation better. No way ANY council will ever please LR and abouttime.
I can assure you that I know no more about the case than anybody else. I have worked for multiple large wealthy corporations and I have seen several claims of "hostile work environments". Unfortunately that is just how the world is. When some people don't get their way, they try to sue or scare into a settlement. MOST (not all) claims are just that. CLAIMS! His word against the employers. Once the pettitioner realizes they aren't going to get money just handed to them, they move on. Sounds like that happened here. A claim was filed, no settlement came from it that I have heard of, hopefully Cory has moved on before he has wasted too much money on lawyers. Again I can assure you that I do not know anymore than what has been published on-line. I do not know Cory or his lawyers.
Cory probably couldn't find a lawyer crazy enough to press his case! Probably just looking for a quick settlement and hasn't got it hopefully. Maybe the guy finally moved on. Maybe its not our council hiding anything because there is nothing to hide. People attempt to scare former employers into ridiculous settlements every day. Once they don't get their settlement, their lawyers usually tell them they aren't willing to go to court in fear of losing time, money, and their repuatation. Cory probably lost a lot in lawyer fees just for the notice of claims! Couldn't imagine how much one would have to pay a lawyer to go to court on a case like his!
This is very disturbing to see. To think they were atempting to raise our rates when they have actually been over charging us all along! If I were to under pay for any amount of time, I am sure I would get a bill in the mail. Can I expect to see a refund? I won't hold my breath.
Spend it on emergency you say? Who the hell do you think shows up at your house when you have an emergency?! It's not Jim, Iris, or Dennis! It's our officers that we just gave a raise! If you don't pay them a respectable wage..... THEY LEAVE! Then we have to spend time and money to hire replacements, educate new officers at a several week long academy approximately 3 hours away (all while being paid by us) and, train in the city while riding with another officer (again being paid by us). That is a lot of time and money to devote to a person, when as soon as they are finished with the academy that we paid them through, they are highly covitted by several agencies across the state! Then we start all over again when they leave for better pay! So why not just give our current already trained and certified officers a raise? If you don't like it, next time you have an emergency, call Jim or Iris! See how fast they get there!
I am one of those voters who first voted for the recall. I also support the raises for the city employees. They deserve to be taken care of for the many years they have taken care of us. I sleep very well with my family feeling safe at night knowing that our officers sre out protecting my family instead of tucking their own children into bed.Thank You ALL city employees. Congratulations on your raises! Hope it goes to good use.
