Yes it does say that! However you said in your original post that chief's salary was nearly $100k. Your chart says employee cost! Your twisting words in attempt to make people look bad.
Gross salary is not the same as employee cost Dennis! You know that. You chose to say chief grossed nearly $100,000 in attempt to make him look bad. You are a liar! Plain and simple. You attempt to make others look bad because you made yourself look bad and got recalled!
Lr... If you want to ask the city questions, why not go to the council meeting and ask? This is not a q and a forum for the city. Your questions seem legit and dignified.... But I doubt people here including me can answer them. Why not go straight to the source?
Just because I wanna see what lie you come up with now..... Dennis, where did you come up with those numbers for chief that were so obviously fabricated? I applaud chief for setting things straight. Dennis there is a lot of land and/or homes for sale farther west in kansas. They may not know your reputation! You could be a mayor!
I have to say I agree with Mertz for the most part. I have strongly disagreed with him in the past but he is right here. The officers deserve the money. Granted this is not the busiest city in kansas, but the danger is always there. Danger or no Danger, these officers work long inconvenient hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Not saying chief does't work hard because I'm sure he does but he isn't the one out there at midnight in sub-zero weather or on christmas morning instead of being with family. Keep up the good work Basehor PD. I feel very safe in my city and thank you for that.
How dare these people try to get money for their families! (Sarcasm) Abouttime.....Are your telling me that you would not try to get a raise at your job if you thought it was possible? I would be more concerned if an employee wasn't trying to make more money. I wish all of the Basehor employees the best of luck with their raises and look forward to hearing how it all turns out. I am also glad that they were able to get 100% health care. I appreciate the work our city employees do and am willing to help them any way I can!
Great Job on the employee health benefits! I'm sure the employees are very grateful. Looking forward to the time when this new and improved council gets to start working on new business rather than fixing the old council's mistakes. Keep up the good work guys! Thank You
Your right Jim... There are a lot of people looking for jobs right now. How many of them are certified to be police officers. I don't think I would like to just start hiring anybody with a application to protect my family. You get what you pay for in this world. If you don't take care of your employees, they will go somewhere that will after they gain certification and experience here. Same thing with city hall employees, experience goes a long ways in the job market and they all have it! Good comparison would be the KC Royals.... They find great players (employees) but refuse to pay them what they are worth so they goes to other teams (cities) after a little experience. we all see how much success that can bring!
Abouttime.... I am not a basehor employee. However I am a Basehor resident that appreciates what the city employees do. Basehor is not a cheap place to live, but you expect people to put thier lives on the line to protect you when the officer's themselves can hardly afford to live here? Well whether you expect it or not, they sure as hell do it everyday! So next time your with your family on a holiday remember they are watching your house while your gone. Missing their family to protect yours! All for about $16 per hour, unless the old council policies stay, then they will make less because they have to pay for more of their insurance! The only joke I see here is your ignorance! It's not hitting the lottery, it's getting what they have deserved for years.
