Basehor City Council to consider new scoreboards for sports complex

1st- I have no clue how it ever referenced our jobs. I'm just now hearing this from this post alone. 2nd- still never happened. 3rd- I believe the city government had heard these claims far before I ever did.

And I safely, without any concern of my job in danger, worked for almost another year after this accusation came up. That's why its a notice of CLAIMS. I gave the facts from my 5 years there. I gave you what I know. That's all I can give... anything else I would say is just hearsay. The best anyone can do is just sit back and wait for further reporting on what's taking place with that case. It's all I can do too.

I'm just saying that "I" had no problem with the Chief or rest of the staff there. As for insight of what's going on, I couldn't tell ya. If I wasn't involved then I don't know. It's not a cover up or battered wife sydrome, it's simply a fact of I don't know.

Well said, and thank you. I hope the best for that town the officers that are still there, and new ones that are joining. I left on good terms, maybe one day if they get their act together, I may look at a return to the PD.

I mean treated badly through the city government, not the management. You can't take things away from your employees and expect them all to stay. Not a complicating issue to figure out. It was a political power struggle with the council and was going to make everyone that worked there miserable. I'm glad the voters helped the city for once in the last election.

(But back to the issue of the PD) you are missing out on the point there is nothing to hide. Since my polygraph with the new job says that I passed, thats all the evidence I need that nothing happened between Jen and I. Plus I have nothing to hide about the PD. It was a great and fun place to work. Just cause one former officer files a complaint against the place doesn't mean we all have to jump on the bandwagon and do it too. That's seems to be the point you just aren't able to grasp. I have no reason to contact an attorney to defend myself against the PD. I left to go to work for the state. It's new, something different, pays more, better benefits, and my jurisdiction stretches across the state now. Why would I stay when the formal council wanted to cut all the things I gained? Instead of saying people are leaving because of corruption within the station, just ask em' why they left. I guess it just bothers you that I(we) don't have a beef with the PD. If you just want to hide behind this forum under "LR", then have at it. I showed up, under my own name, to defend myself to the public that reads this. I don't need any false accusations against me, trying to ruin my name just cause i left. And I sure don't need an attorney to do it for me either. So I did "man up"! Out here with my name for you to read. Don't like my answers, then tough.

I left because I seen how the city was falling before it did. About the time they wanted to start taking from the employees rather than giving, it was time for me to move on. As for the Jen and I thing, that's still the funniest allegation I've heard out of that town yet. You really need to find something better to yap about. There was only one officer that ever believed that was going on, so it basically shows why you bring up the so called officers treated badly. I could care less about the damage control. I don't work there anymore on my terms. Was never asked to quit. Actually was asked to stay. Like I said before, if you want to know the reasons I left, be more than happy to tell anyone. So man up and say who you are, and we can sit down and have a lovely visit about what goes on in the PD.

Until it's all said and done I won't comment due to the fact that since I worked with the officer, I may get dragged in this somehow.

Well attacking the Chief is the wrong way to go. Trust me, that town is lucky to have him there.

I was there for 5 years, never had a problem with them. Everyone complains about a job or something that someone has done. Work is like a second home, you spend enough hours with someone and you're bound to have disagreements or arguments over something. I learned a lot from that department. If there was a debate, we would figure it out. One way or another, you got the job done. I didn't leave because of the Chief, Lt., or anyone in the department. If the city would try to take care of the employees a little better, like they promised when I first started, I would still be there to this day. I miss working in that town, but I was also tired of working a full time job, part-time job, and 2 seasonal jobs, a year. As for Chief working off duty, think about this-- The coverage of officers on duty at the time, who needs to go home and sleep before their next shift, and who is available to work off duty. When the school ask for a certain amount of personnel to step up and work, Chief covered what was extra and available, or what some officers couldn't sign up for. So I say again, if you don't/haven't worked there, don't complain about it. Everyone reads half a story or COMPLAINT and jumps to their conclusion of the truth. I think Martley is doing a wonderful job in that town compared to other cities that have some major issues to deal with. Instead of trying to tear down the Chief, try building up a faculty without a turnover rate of every 3 years or so. Try seeing what it takes to keep good employees around. If you all can do that and still have these same issues, then hop online and complain away.

So I don't have to continue a novel, if anyone absolutely has to know why I left, I'd be more than happy to share.

Again, you all have no clue what's going on in that department. Such entertainment from the opinions you all have. What's funny is you all make such statements as if it is a fact. Guess if you haven't worked there, you can't complain about it. Former officer's are more than willing to tell you the reasons they left. You all really need to get your FACTS straight.
