History without a home: Library building constructed by Basehor's founder needs new spot

I believe we have enough companies in the town of Basehor with the resources available to move this building, it may not be easy but it definately can be done. If people can move houses across the state or country, then this building can definately be moved. I am sure that there is plenty of room at our current library to place this amazing piece of Basehor history. Mr. Miles, Mr. Brandt, Mr. Breuer (any of you), I'm pretty sure that you all have the resources to make this happen, time for a little community service.....As for the new owners of the property, come on!!!!!, are you really willing to be the one to tear down a historic land mark in the City of Basehor???

Basehor mayor denies request for special council meeting before recalls take effect

I cannot believe that Mr. Box resigned. He got caught up in the evil doings of others and feel upon the sword to save this city from any other damage. Mr. Box I personally do wish you well sir and thank you for your service!

Basehor mayor denies request for special council meeting before recalls take effect

And so it continues, why try to bully your way into power!!! The people have spoke, it is disturbing to see all these people in the council chambers now, but they were nowhere in sight when the rules and regulations were passed!! How about everyone go sit in on a state legislative meeting and voice your opinions to them!! Those are the real crooks and crooked individuals, maybe go talk to your congress person and see that they do not get kick backs from private parties while we are all left high and dry, stealing gas from one another!!! WHAT A CIRCUS SIDESHOW!!

I can't believe this is going on!! Mertz and Dysart, along with the Mayor have been effectively fired, MERTZ give it up and get a life, your job is done, the people do not want you making anymore decisions for this city!!!!

I can agree with your comments completly. The roads in town are not the best but they've been that way. I think sidewalks from one end of the town to the other and in several other locations should be a priority. Anyways I was just confused on the gravel road statements, I just couldn't think of any. We are on the same side and page, just needed clarification.

Just a question for you two, where are these gravel roads located in Basehor that you speak of? Or are you two just dissing our older roads in town??

Basehor residents turn out in droves to recall mayor, 2 council members

I believe that if they try to hold the special meeting Monday evening it will be to late as the votes will have already been certified by the County Commissioners. I think if this UNDERHANDED meeting is to be called and take place it may have to happen either today (Thursday), tomorrow (Friday) or first thing Monday morning before the votes are certified. I think once the County Commissioners certify the votes the recalled members are out of office!!! Look for this meeting to be tomorrow!!! Call city hall and confirm if indeed a special meeting has been called!! Take a stand citizens of Basehor, do not let the same good ole boy situation unfold again!!!!!!! I would hope that Mr. Box would not fall fall for the evil trickery of his already recalled council member associates!!!! Why would Mr. Box call a special meeting on his own, did they already communicate outside of an official meeting??? Please Mr. Box, think long and hard about what you doing.

Questions and answers on Feb. 28 Basehor recall election

What about the Mussett scam across the road from City Hall?? Did the school end up getting their ground for free as promised?? Did the city have to pay out a large sum of money already or is that again for a road that the tax payers paid for once??? When will all that payment come due?? and who exactly will pay for that mess?? Oh that's right that is a very large and flourishing development that both you (Council President Washington) and Dysart both thought that the developer was so outstanding?? Where is he now??? At least the guys with Wolf Creek tried to make a go of something that this town desperately could have used!!!! Did Mussett even get to keep any of his land??? Or did the bank take it all??

A lot of you seem to have some misconceptions about the senoir living complex, Country Place Living has facilities in 6 states including Kansas and 9 facilities already in the state of Kansas. The Breurers' do not own this complex!!!! The group came in and asked for investors to make the project a success, in case you do not know, Pebble Brooke (owned by Bonee Enterprises) is the only 55 and older living community in the city. This facility would provide on site care for individuals that would need more than what Pebble Brooke can offer. It's also funny that when the low income housing project came in 2 years ago and asked for support no one, and I mean no one showed up to argue about it then and council (including WASHINGTON, DYSART and I'm sure MERTZ would have also, if he had been at the meeting!!t) gave the development full support and the letter they were asking for to take to the state for tax credits, where in the @#LL were you all at then. From the January 28, 2010 Basehor Sentinel • Approved, 4-0, a letter of support for Garrison Development to apply for affordable housing tax credits to construct Southside Village Apartments at 155th Street and Pinehurst Drive.
