Fourth-graders in Carol Caplinger's class at Lansing Intermediate School demonstrate they are "good sports who don't use drugs" by participating in Red Ribbon Week. The event began in 1988 and aims to reinforce the benefits of saying no to alcohol, drugs and tobacco. Lessons and activities throughout the week also warn students of the harm drugs can cause.
