Lynette Trotter, left, and Walter Gotsch hold two of the various items the Lewis and Clark re-enactors have created. Trotter, a Lansing resident, holds a braided rope bumper similar to what may have been used to protect the boats' sides. Gotsch, of St. Louis, holds a piece of inscribed leather similar to ones the group was thought to have given as souvenirs.
