County commissioners again considering emergency vehicle for Basehor

Fools,

Basic services come first. ¿Do roads come before health? ¿How many people have to die due to lack of an ambulance for 20+ minutes? I sure hope my next heart attack happens in another city.

Basehor City Council gives employees pay bump

Fools Fools Fools

Here we lack the common services in our city while the employees are getting fatter. Here we have discussions where the county is looking at cutting an emergency vehicle once again while we spend it like candy. ¿Why will we not take this $100k and put it towards emergency? ¿Does anyone on city council want to get elected next year? Healy has no clue, "We would never let that happen". Dude you have NO clue. The mayor can move someone on the pay plan without council approval. Read the bylaws and ordinance. It is plain and clear. You approved for up to 40% raise. mayor call tell you to climb a rope. ¿Are you that inexperienced that you did not confirm this? Bahahaha You are being schooled. You best authenticate before you open your mouth. That woman who stood up knew what she was talking about. You sit are the one who needs to apologize.

Basehor council paves way for state loan refinancing

It's delightful that the Special Meeting was designed by the Mayor to eliminate public comments.

¿Why did the editor delete several user names from this website?

¿Do you have to be pro mayor and city staff to keep from being deleted?

Letter: Mertz addresses recall charges

So, all mighty Talisman. Who would you choose for Mayor? ¿Breuer? The same man whom lost his temper and threw a fist full of papers across the council bench when he was upset? The same man you was belligerent to Fred Box when he was not going to vote for Breuer to become president of council? ¿Travis Miles? The man who helps run Suburban Water in which the Citizens' Utility Taxpayer Board (CURB) attorney addressed last week that the company has major problems and are avoiding answering questions about their finances. Kansas Corporation Commission staff spoke of perjury last week when it came to Suburban's financial statement. ¿Hill? The man whom blatantly ignored the previous city attorney. Ignored city policy. Altered contracts.

Mayor cries foul over 'wasteful spending' accusations

Has everyone read the letter from former City Attorney Patrick Reavey about what the Mayor took part in. Taking extra benefits and altering the contract. See below.

"Dear Mayor and Council:
It is with great regret that I send this letter to you. In all of my ten years of serving cities
as City Attorney, I have never had to send a letter like this. While it would be much easier for me to not write this letter, my ethical duties as a lawyer run to the governing body of the City, and not to any individual member of the body or any staff member. In other words, in the role of City Attorney, my client is considered the governing body and, therefore, if I become aware of things or conduct that may put the city in legal jeopardy, I am required to disclose those, even if such disclosure may adversely affect a member of staff or an individual member of the governing body."

"The proper way to have addressed this issue would have been to bring it to the Council's
attention, and have them take a vote, at an open meeting, to authorize the Mayor to sign the
revision to the Agreement the Council had previously adopted. The bottom line is no one has the authority to revise a contract entered into by the City without getting authority to do so from the City Council."

"By the way, Mark never disclosed to me that he and the Mayor had changed his contract.
I only learned of this long after the fact when Mary Mogle indicated to me Mark and the Mayor
came to her and asked for Mark's contract to make a change to it."

click on the link to read the entire letter. This sheds light on everything. Do we want the same thing to happen again? Cry foul all you want. It was wrong!!!!
