...WINTRY MIX EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND...
AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL APPROACH FROM THE SOUTHWEST AND BRING
A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION TO SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST
KANSAS THIS WEEKEND. THE EVENT IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN AS EITHER
SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN. AS COLD AIR SPREADS IN THE WAKE OF THE
SYSTEM SATURDAY AFTERNOON...PRECIPITATION TYPE SHOULD TURN OVER TO
ALL SNOW. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE BEFORE
THE SNOW STARTS TO TAPER OFF EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. THERE IS ALSO A
CHANCE FOR MINOR ICE ACCUMULATIONS BY EARLY SATURDAY MORNING
ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS BEFORE THE SNOW BEGINS. AT THIS TIME
THERE IS HIGH UNCERTAINTY IN WHERE THIS HEAVIER SNOWFALL AXIS WILL
BE...SO PLEASE STAY TUNED TO THE FORECAST AS STORM PARAMETERS
BECOME MORE CLEAR. REGARDLESS... HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE
BECOMING MORE LIKELY FOR THE WEEKEND AND MOTORISTS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO STAY ABREAST TO THE SITUATION.
