...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING
THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...
* TIMING...PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY...BECOME MORE
WIDESPREAD AND HEAVY LATE MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...AND
CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY ON TUESDAY BEFORE ENDING TUESDAY
EVENING. SNOW MAY MIX WITH RAIN AT TIMES MONDAY INTO TUESDAY
MORNING OVER THE WATCH AREA...WITH A BETTER CHANCE FOR RAIN IN
SOUTHERN PARTS OF THE WATCH.
* ACCUMULATION...4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE
WATCH AREA. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF THE
HEAVY SNOW WILL HAVE A VERY SHARP CUTOFF TO ONLY MINOR
ACCUMULATION...AND THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE WATCH AREA MAY
HAVE MUCH LESS SNOW THAN AREAS ONLY SLIGHTLY FARTHER NORTH AND
WEST.
* WIND...WINDS WILL FREQUENTLY GUST 25 TO 40 MPH MONDAY NIGHT
THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING. WINDS WILL BE FROM THE NORTHEAST ON
MONDAY EVENING...TURNING FROM THE NORTHWEST BY LATE TUESDAY.
* VISIBILITY...AREAS THAT RECEIVE HEAVY SNOW CAN EXPECT SHARPLY
REDUCED VISIBILITY.
* MAIN IMPACT...TRAVEL IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE VERY DIFFICULT IF
NOT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOW FALLS. BLOWING
AND DRIFTING OF SNOW COULD CLOSE AREA ROADS.
