...SNOW MAKING A RETURN TO FAR SOUTHWEST KANSAS...
.AN UPPER LOW WILL CONTINUE TO GAIN STRENGTH AS IT APPROACHES THE
SOUTHERN ROCKIES TODAY. WIDESPREAD SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE
HIGH PLAINS AND MESAS OF NORTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO INTO ADJACENT FAR
SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO. THE SNOW WILL THEN EXPAND EAST TO ENCOMPASS
PORTIONS OF FAR WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST KANSAS DURING THE
AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING HOURS.

* TIMING...TODAY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT.
* SNOW AMOUNTS...2 TO 4 INCHES. HIGHEST AMOUNTS IN THE ELKHART
AREA WHERE SOME LOCALLY 5 TO 6 INCH AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE.
LOWEST AMOUNTS FARTHER NORTH TOWARD THE ARKANSAS RIVER WHERE 2
INCHES AT MOST CAN BE EXPECTED.
* MAIN IMPACT...SNOWPACKED ROADS CAUSING DIFFICULT TRAVEL WITH
DELAYS EXPECTED.
