...WINTER STORM WITH 6 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED TO HIT THE AREA
TUESDAY...
A WINTER STORM WILL BRING BETWEEN 6 AND 8 INCHES TO AREAS ALONG AND
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 70 STARTING EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. AREAS ALONG
AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 50 SHOULD RECEIVE AROUND 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW. THE
SNOW WILL INTENSIFY THROUGH THE DAY ON TUESDAY BEFORE GRADUALLY
LIGHTENING UP BY TUESDAY EVENING. WINDS WILL BE OUT OF THE EAST
NORTHEAST BETWEEN 10 AND 20 MPH THROUGH MOST OF THE EVENT WITH
OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO BETWEEN 20 AND 25 MPH. THE HEAVIER SNOW COULD
APPROACH 1 INCH PER HOUR RATES AT TIMES DURING THE DAY TIME HOURS ON
TUESDAY...AND IN COMBINATION WITH THE WINDS COULD PRODUCE SOME WHITE
OUT CONDITIONS. ROADS WILL QUICKLY BECOME SNOW PACKED AND VISIBILITY
WILL BE MINIMAL...MAKING DRIVING CONDITIONS TREACHEROUS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN KANSAS CITY/PLEASANT HILL HAS
ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW...
WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 9 AM CST WEDNESDAY. THE
WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* LOCATION...ACROSS WEST CENTRAL AND CENTRAL MISSOURI.
* TIMING...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER EASTERN KANSAS AND
WESTERN MISSOURI BEFORE DAYBREAK TUESDAY MORNING AND SPREAD
EASTWARD DURING THE MORNING HOURS. HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS
EXPECTED TO FALL ACROSS THE AREA FROM LATE TUESDAY MORNING TO
TUESDAY EVENING. SNOW SHOULD THEN BEGIN TO TAPER OFF FROM WEST
TO EAST TUESDAY NIGHT.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...RANGING FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES.
* IMPACTS...SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE QUICKLY ON ROADS AND SURFACES
BECOMING SNOW PACKED AND CAUSING HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
GUSTY WINDS MAY ALSO RESULT IN THE POTENTIAL FOR BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW...MAKING TRAVEL MORE TREACHEROUS.
