.A DEVELOPING WINTER STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD SNOW ACROSS
THE AREA LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON...WHICH WILL CONTINUE TO FALL THROUGH
SUNDAY. HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE AND DEVELOPING
STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS ON SUNDAY MAY RESULT IN CONSIDERABLE
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. THERE REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY IN THE
TRACK OF THIS STORM...WHICH WILL AFFECT WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS
EXPECTED.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH
SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER THE AREA SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND
CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...WIDESPREAD ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES
ARE EXPECTED. LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS OF 8 INCHES OR MORE WILL
BE POSSIBLE.
* WINDS...BECOMING NORTHEAST DURING THE DAY SUNDAY FROM 20 TO 30
MPH...RESULTING IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.
* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS. DRIFTING SNOW
WILL CREATE LOW VISIBILITIES SUNDAY AND MAY MAKE IT DIFFICULT
FOR ROAD CREWS TO KEEP ROADS CLEAR...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AREAS.
